1What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They let the site remember things — like which conversation is yours — between visits.
2Cookies we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
vid | Essential | A random visitor ID that links your chat history to this browser. Contains no name, email or phone. | 1 year |
consent | Essential | Remembers that you confirmed your age and accepted our Terms (and which version). | 1 year |
sm_sess | Essential | Keeps you signed in after "Continue with Google". Holds a random token only — no name or email. | 30 days or until you sign out |
sm_oauth | Essential (security) | Protects the Google sign-in step against forged requests. Deleted as soon as you come back from Google. | 10 minutes |
sm_admin | Essential | Only for site administrators signing in to the admin area. | Browser session |
The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to deliver the font files. We do not use Google Fonts for tracking. If you choose "Continue with Google", the sign-in happens on Google's own pages, where Google's cookies and privacy policy apply.
3No advertising or tracking cookies
We currently do not use analytics, advertising, retargeting or social-media tracking cookies or pixels. If we add any in future (for example to measure our advertising), we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
4How to control cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings (usually under Settings → Privacy → Cookies). Because our cookies are essential, blocking them means your chat history cannot be saved and you will be asked to confirm your age again. You can also use the "Delete all my chats" button in our Privacy Policy.
5Changes
We will update this page whenever the cookies we use change. The "Last updated" date shows the current version.
Write to our support team or our Grievance Officer. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours.
